Strategic partnership with HyperView and Riyue Group combines government-supported demand, autonomous driving technology and renewable energy in China. QUANTRON sees significant business potential in the integrated As-a-Service model.

QUANTRON, HyperView and Riyue Group are creating an international industrial platform for zero-emission and autonomous heavy-duty commercial vehicles. At the heart of the strategic framework agreement is the purchase of 2,000 zero-emission trucks for Shaoxing by 2030. The agreement identifies a government-affiliated platform company in Shaoxing as the buyer. The vehicles are intended to replace existing fossil-fuel-powered trucks in the region.

Recurring revenue instead of one-off vehicle sales

The business model extends well beyond vehicle sales: Quantron-as-a-Service (QaaS) combines vehicle provision, energy supply, financing, service and digital fleet solutions with autonomous-driving technology in an integrated offering based on monthly payments. This gives customers capex-light access to the next generation of zero-emission commercial vehicles. Autonomous driving functions will be rolled out in line with technical maturity and the necessary approvals.

With the full scope of the programme implemented as envisaged, the model is designed to generate continuous value over multi-year contract terms and throughout the entire period of use. This creates a predictable business model that integrates the various services over the full contract term.

Signing ceremony in Rome, Italy: Andreas Haller, CEO of Haller Group, the senior officials from Shaoxing, Haohua Yu, CEO of Riyue Group and Dr. Feilong Liu, CEO of HyperView, formalize their cooperation to advance the development of zero-emission commercial vehicles.

Scaling in China – unlocking cost advantages worldwide

For QUANTRON, demand in the Chinese domestic market is of fundamental strategic importance. Local sales volumes provide the foundation for scaling development, procurement and production, and transferring the resulting cost advantages to international business. China therefore serves as a sales market, an industrial base and a starting point for global expansion. This connection is explicitly embedded in the cooperation framework.

“The ramp-up to 2,000 vehicles envisaged in the agreement gives QUANTRON China a clear commercial perspective and provides the scale required for a competitive market entry. Together with our partners, we will now translate this perspective into concrete vehicle programmes and integrated customer solutions – from the vehicle and energy supply to financing, service and digital fleet management,” explains Daniel Fräde, CEO of QUANTRON.

HyperView’s series-production expertise meets Riyue’s energy infrastructure

HyperView brings extensive experience from the Chinese automotive industry. The company already supplies several vehicle manufacturers with intelligent driving and driver-assistance systems. According to the company, its systems have entered series production in more than 30 vehicle models, with cumulative production exceeding one million systems. Through QUANTRON China, this technological expertise is to be integrated into the shared commercial vehicle platform and scaled internationally.

Riyue Group adds renewable energy and local implementation expertise to the consortium. It supports the development of photovoltaic-based energy and charging infrastructure and contributes industrial resources in Shaoxing. The partnership thereby connects vehicle technology with the energy supply needed for ongoing fleet operations.

Beyond its economic potential, the programme could make a significant contribution to lower-emission logistics: based on QUANTRON’s own preliminary estimate, the 2,000 vehicles could avoid around two million tonnes of direct CO₂ emissions during operation compared with equivalent diesel trucks over ten years of operation per vehicle.
