VELUX and LOTS Group join forces to accelerate electrified logistics on a record-long BEV route in Europe.

Danish roof window manufacturer VELUX Group and LOTS Group, a subsidiary of Scania, are collaborating to accelerate the transition to low-emission logistics in VELUX’s European transport network. The ambition is to develop a scalable model for electrified logistics operations along a 1,250 km round trip – one of Europe’s longest BEV corridors. The collaboration began with a pilot phase in early 2026 to evaluate the operational and financial feasibility of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in selected transport flows. Using the AI-based logistics platform Pathfinder, LOTS Group analyzed routes, charging infrastructure, transport data and operational constraints.

Through scenario modeling and data analysis, the parties can evaluate different electrification strategies, reduce implementation risks, and develop practical plans for deployment.

For us, the transition to lower-emission transport must be both ambitious and practical. By combining LOTS Group’s planning capabilities with insights from our own transport flows, we can assess how electric trucks can be integrated into our network, while maintaining the reliability, flexibility and efficiency that our business requires,” says Søren Back Pedersen, Sr Director – Market Logistics and Sourcing at VELUX Group.

The initial pilot phase allowed us to analyze real logistics flows and evaluate how electrification can work in practice,” says Max Blatt, CEO of LOTS Group. “Based on these insights, we are now expanding the collaboration to explore how AI-driven logistics planning, data and electrified transport can support VELUX in reducing emissions across the entire network.

Reducing emissions from transportation is an important part of our climate journey at VELUX. Through this collaboration with LOTS Group, we can use real logistics data to better understand where electrification can create value and how it can be implemented in a way that supports both our sustainability ambitions and our operational performance,” says Nadia Møllebjerg, Senior Program Manager, Logistics Sustainability at VELUX.

Through its collaboration with LOTS Group, the company aims to combine AI-planned logistics with electrified transport solutions to support the long-term decarbonization of its European logistics operations.

By combining agent-based planning, operational data and access to electric transport capacity, the parties want to develop a scalable approach to electrify long-distance logistics and demonstrate how the transition to zero-emission freight transport is possible today.
