Maximum variety for a maximum range of applications – the new Transporter from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles offers a larger range of body, load space and drive combinations than its predecessor. This means that it is better prepared than ever for all conceivable deployment scenarios. The new spectrum ranges from the panel van with a greater choice of variants to the double-cab Transporter dropside, unique in its class, and the elegant Caravelle Style.
On the drive side, efficient turbodiesel engines and electric motors are used. A plug-in hybrid drive is also available. The Transporter can also be ordered with all-wheel drive (4MOTION). Thanks to the wide model range and the improved characteristics in every discipline, the latest generation of the Transporter, which was introduced at the beginning of 2025, has established itself as a successful model. In addition, the new generation of the Transporter stands out with a five-year new vehicle warranty1 and one of Europe’s densest and best service networks.
13 body variants: The Transporter is the all-rounder for all payloads up to 1.33 tonnes. The load compartment can accommodate two or – with long wheelbase – three Euro pallets or an entire workshop including 230 V power supply. Depending on the version, there is space on board for up to nine people. The wide range of Transporter variants is based on 13 body versions. The range includes the panel van (up to 3 seats) with normal roof (5.8 m3 load volume) or high roof (9.0 m3 stowage space), the panel van Plus (up to 6 seats), the panel van with L-shaped partition (up to 5 seats) for transporting crew and very long items, the Kombi with windows for transporting goods or passengers (up to 9 seats), the dropside model with a load area of 4.2 m2 and double cab (6 seats) and the Caravelle for commercial passenger transport (up to 9 seats). All models are available with a normal and extended wheelbase (dropside vehicles always have a long wheelbase). The standard-equipment digital cockpit landscape is perfectly tailored to the mobile workplace. Additional safety is offered by innovative solutions such the optional digital interior rear-view mirror. Here, the image from the rear camera is projected onto the mirror display, thus enabling optimum visibility to the rear even for the closed panel van.
11 drive variants: This is new – a Volkswagen Transporter that is also available with plug-in hybrid drive and electric drives as an alternative to turbodiesel engines. The economical entry-level engine for the models is an 81 kW (110 PS) turbodiesel direct injection engine (TDI) with manual gearbox. This is followed in the next TDI output level by a 110 kW (150 PS) version, which can be optionally ordered with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The top-of-the-range diesel engine delivers 125 kW (170 PS) and is combined with the eight-speed automatic gearbox as standard. As an alternative to the front-wheel drive, the 110 and 125 kW TDI can be ordered with 4MOTION all-wheel drive and eight-speed automatic gearbox, which is also standard for the 110 kW TDI in this case.
2,800 kg maximum trailer weight: Even the base version of the Transporter with its 81 kW (110 PS) TDI engine is designed for maximum trailer weights of up to 2,000 kg. From the 110 kW (150 PS) TDI version onwards, the maximum trailer weight increases to up to 2,800 kg, depending on version. The Transporter with plug-in hybrid drive allows maximum trailer weights of up to 2,300 kg. The all-electric Transporter and Caravelle vehicles tow trailers with a total load of up to 2,300 kg to wherever the load is needed on site (Caravelle and Transporter dropside with double cab: 2,000 kg). All maximum trailer weights stated here refer to braked trailers with 12% gradient.
58 paint colours: The range of exterior colours is tailored to the specific requirements of businesses. The four solid colours Clear White, Dark Indigo Blue, Intensive Red and Stone Grey are used for the Transporter and Caravelle as standard. This means that these four colours, which are preferred by many companies, are available at no extra cost. In addition, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles offers both models in the five optional metallic colours Graphite Dust, Light Grey, Mid Blue, Midnight Black and Warm Green. Furthermore, there are 49 special paint finishes to match the colours of the Transporter and Caravelle perfectly to a company’s CI. Some of the most prominent examples of such special paint finishes are Rapeseed Yellow, Chartreux Grey, Deep Brown, Clear Red, KLM Blue and Paprika Red.
