At Next Mobility Exhibition, Menarini presented two new public transport buses, FLASH Electrocity and AIRON Electrocity, featuring seating systems supplied by Lazzerini and a newly designed dedicated area for people with disabilities.
Lazzerini’s contribution follows two key directions: on one hand, the development of high-performance, sustainable seating solutions; on the other, the evolution of on-board accessibility standards.
The highlight of the setup is the Re-Compact seat, designed for urban transport and engineered to ensure ergonomics, comfort, and adaptability to different types of passengers. Lightweight, durable, and easy to maintain, the seat is made from fully recyclable material, which is itself recyclable, offering high performance in terms of longevity, safety, and resistance to vandalism. The project also stands out for its environmental focus: the material is derived from waste otherwise destined for landfill and enables a significant reduction in the use of fossil-based raw materials, contributing to a production model oriented toward circularity.
Alongside sustainability, the project introduces a new feature: a dedicated area for passengers with reduced mobility. Developed by Lazzerini in collaboration with Vernacchia Design, the space has been conceived as a true “welcome area,” designed to enhance the travel experience through a more welcoming, recognizable, and functional environment. The goal is to go beyond the concept of a purely technical station, offering a solution that ensures greater comfort, safety, and a higher level of privacy.
Vernacchia Design is an independent design studio with international standing. Founded in 2007, it stems from the experience of brothers Mario and Sandro Vernacchia, who since 1981 have collaborated on numerous innovative and challenging projects at leading Turin-based automotive design centers, including Pininfarina and Tesco.
The collaboration between Lazzerini and Vernacchia Design is part of a consolidated research path focused on materials and sustainable design, aimed at developing products that combine innovation, durability, and reduced environmental impact, prioritizing solutions that extend material life cycles and enhance reuse.

“With this project, we confirm our integrated approach, which combines material sustainability with the quality of the onboard experience”, says Innocenzo Carbone, CEO of Lazzerini. “On one hand, we work to reduce the environmental impact of our products; on the other, to concretely improve the usability of spaces for all passengers. The new area dedicated to people with disabilities goes exactly in this direction: not only functional, but designed to offer comfort, safety, and dignity.”
Lazzerini’s presence at Next Mobility Exhibition reinforced its role as a key supplier for major bus manufacturers, contributing to the evolution of public transport through solutions that integrate design, sustainability, and inclusivity.
