Two years after the Schwarzmüller Group and Krone Trailer formalised their partnership, both companies are taking stock of the progress made so far. What began as a shared strategic vision has, over the past few months, been translated step by step into concrete measures. The focus is on the targeted strengthening of sales and service activities, the continuation of the established Schwarzmüller and Hüffermann brands as proven specialists in their respective product segments, and the operational development of the group.
Since the start of the partnership, Schwarzmüller and Krone Trailer have pursued the common goal of exploiting synergies without sacrificing the brands’ independence. Schwarzmüller remains positioned as a specialist in sophisticated transport solutions for lightweight construction as well as the construction and infrastructure sectors, whilst Hüffermann continues to expand its expertise in the field of roll-off and skip trailers. Krone Trailer complements the partnership with its broad market presence, its sales network and its experience in the international trailer business.
One example of this successful collaboration is the development and market launch of a 4-axle tipper for Denmark. Here, Krone’s market knowledge, supported by a Scandinavian sales subsidiary, was specifically combined with Schwarzmüller’s product expertise to offer a market-specific solution with the quality Schwarzmüller is known for. Initial joint sales initiatives have also been implemented in the agricultural sector: Selected Schwarzmüller products, including the SX aluminium large-capacity tipper, are now available through Krone Agriculture.
In addition to sales, the service division has also been more closely integrated. The partners’ service networks have been mutually enabled, allowing customers to benefit from enhanced support. For example, products from the Krone portfolio can now also be serviced at Schwarzmüller and Hüffermann workshops. This means the partnership is not only visible at a strategic level, but also delivers direct benefits to customers.
Since July 2025, Bastian Litterscheid has taken on operational responsibility within the management team as Chief Operating Officer (COO). With his many years of experience in the commercial vehicle sector, he is guiding the further development of production, process and organisational structures in this role. In addition, as spokesperson for the management board, Bastian Litterscheid is responsible for the company’s strategic direction and drives the further development of key future-oriented topics. In this role, he also ensures consistent positioning and decision-making within the company’s management. His role thus strengthens the management board’s ability to act and provides clear impetus for the company’s long-term development.
“The past two years have shown that our partnership is built on a stable foundation. We pool our expertise whilst respecting the identity of the individual brands, thereby creating added value for our customers and stability for our employees,” says Beate Paletar.
The collaboration is also closely supported on the Krone side. Regular exchanges between the companies, as well as the involvement of the supervisory board members and the Paletar family, underline the long-term nature of the partnership. The aim remains to consistently combine the respective strengths of the companies and develop additional market opportunities from this.
“The partnership with Schwarzmüller and Hüffermann opens up the opportunity for us to sensibly expand our range in specialised product areas. It is crucial that each brand retains its clear role and can continue to leverage its expertise independently,” says Stefan Binnewies.
Looking ahead to the coming years, Schwarzmüller and Krone intend to further deepen their collaboration. The focus is on the continuous expansion of joint sales activities, the further integration of service networks, and the development of market-specific solutions in which both partners contribute their respective strengths.
